I coin myself as the "East Coast Migrator" because I was born in Pennsylvania, raised in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, received my two undergraduate BAs in Studio Art and Technical Theatre from James Madison University in Virginia, and am currently attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for my MFA in Animatronics in (you guessed it) North Carolina. I'm always looking for the next big adventure (east coast or elsewhere!) to explore storytelling.
I have loved the arts and storytelling since I was very young. My passion for animatronics, specifically for figure finishing, was born out of my love of combining multiple art mediums to create amazing works. I love that the process of creating animatronics is the intersection between design, fabricating, and engineering where each piece works in harmony to tell a compelling story that effects viewers. I personally love the handmade side of animatronics. I enjoy sewing fabrics, feathers, and furs, mold making and casting, airbrushing, hair punching, and illustration.
